The commissioning ceremony of the Simandou Iron Ore Project was recently held at Marébaya Port, marking an important step for one of the world’s most anticipated mining developments. Known for its exceptionally large reserves and high-grade ore, Simandou—located in southeastern Guinea—features concentrated ore bodies and shallow deposits, making it one of the most promising iron ore resources globally.

Throughout the project’s construction phase, XCMG has played a vital role by supplying a comprehensive portfolio of heavy machinery. To date, more than 400 units of equipment—including cranes, excavators, rollers, electric mining trucks, and motor graders—have been delivered to support large-scale mining and infrastructure development. Among them, the XGE105 electric mining truck, one of the earliest models deployed at Simandou, has demonstrated remarkable energy efficiency and reliability, ensuring continuous and environmentally friendly mining operations.

The Simandou site presents unique challenges due to its tropical climate. Surrounded by dense forests and mountainous terrain, the region is characterized by high temperatures, heavy humidity, unstable power conditions, and demanding working environments. XCMG’s equipment fleet has proven its strength under these extreme conditions, showing outstanding environmental adaptability, stable uptime, and intelligent maintenance capabilities. These advantages have enabled the machines to perform consistently in tasks such as mineral transport, road construction, and site preparation.
